Covid has blocked everything, it has changed our habits, it has closed bars, restaurants and shops for a long time, it has changed the way we travel and do tourism, but this has not stopped us.
Dolomititaxi believes in recovery, in the future and in the summer that is coming.
People, after a long forced lockdown, want to go back to living and want to do so in a peaceful and calm way by starting to travel again and take a holiday, whether long or short, or even just a day, but spending it in the open air , in a slow way, experiencing beautiful moments of peace among pleasant places and splendid panoramas like our Dolomites.
We are lucky enough to live in the midst of splendid mountains which offer, in addition to breathtaking views, also trekking paths and cycle paths for two-wheel lovers.
We want to offer cycle tourism an ad hoc service and this is why we have purchased a new bicycle trolley that can load up to 20 bikes and e-bikes.
To date we have 2 trolleys with 8 and 16 seater minibuses.
Together with the Fun Active company of Dobbiaco we offer a luggage transport service from one hotel to another, bicycles for sections where there is no cycle path, and transfers to/from the airports.
We offer a bicycle transport service from Ospitale to Belluno and vice versa, where the interruption of the cycle path makes the stretch dangerous, every day from June.
Dolomiti Taxi also offers a bicycle transport service from Longarone to Cortina every Saturday and Sunday.
The service will be active from 29 May 2021
Departure from the Longarone Fiera car park at 08.30 with a min. of 8 people
Reservation by Friday 12.00 at no. +39 333 3928171
In the stretch from Calalzo di Cadore to Passo Cimabanche, or in a south-north direction towards Cortina d’Ampezzo, the cycle path takes the name of “long route of the Dolomites”.
The first part of the route, from the Calalzo FS station to the Cortina station, is almost entirely asphalted and partly artificially lit even during the night hours. This part of the route, which goes up Val Boite, is the one with the least sensitive slopes, even if it is constantly ascending from Calalzo to Cortina. Particularly evocative is the stretch that crosses the Oltrechiusa where from the cycle path it is possible to admire the UNESCO site “Pelmo-Croda da Lago”, the Antelao, the Marmarole and the Sorapiss (which constitute a special protection area), as well as the Tofane.
The second part of the route, from Cortina d’Ampezzo to Dobbiaco, is characterized by a beaten gravel path, with a constant climb of 3.5% from Cortina to Cimabanche. From this former station the route descends again, initially with a 3.5% gradient and then with a lighter gradient towards the former Dobbiaco station.
